His final farewell

Ramesh's final ceremony took place at Mount Auburn Cemetery ( in Cambridge, MA on August 5, 2010 as arranged (His final ceremony). Mount Auburn Cemetery is a national historic landmark, founded in 1831, and is one of the most beautiful and historic landscapes in America.

Ramesh's family members (his wife, daughter, parents, brother and in-laws), friends and colleagues attended the event to say their heartfelt final goodbye to him. They conveyed their goodbye with their tears, wishes, flowers and prayers. The ceremony included a special Puja, eulogy (His life journey) and cremation.

During the last six days, so many of his friends and colleagues offered their time and efforts, big and small, worked hard mentally and physically and contributed financially. They showed their support greatly and made sure everything happened as smoothly as possible. Thanks a lot to each and every one of you, though you did so not to receive thanks or anything, but for love of Ramesh!

His life journey

This is a man's simple life journey. Though it ended abruptly, it was filled with love, dedication, hard work, joy and satisfaction. Ramesh was born in 1975 in Aruppukottai, TN, India. He was the eldest son for his parents and he grew up with his younger sister and brother. He studied at Devangar Higher Secondary School, Aruppukottai. Always a dedicated and a top-level student, he went on to study at Coimbatore Institute of Technology from 1992-1996 in Electronics and Communication Engineering. There he was known for his great passion in electronics and he presented many technical papers.

After his engineering degree, he worked for Tata Consultancy Services, Bombay, India (1996) and Barbodas West Indies (1999) as a software engineer. Then he moved to New Jersey, USA (2000) and later to Boston suburb where he worked for BrassRing and Kenexa, rising to the position of software manager. He also worked towards getting a Masters in Computer Science.

He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. He was survived by his wife, daughter, son on the way, parents, brother and sister. He took great pride in his family and held great hopes and dreams for them. He loved teaching his daughter and making up fun inspirational stories for her that encouraged an interest in science and many other subjects.

He enjoyed playing cricket, tennis and biking. In the last few years, he was learning swimming and it became one of his favorite pastimes. On July 31, 2010, he went for a picnic with his family at a lake near west of Boston, MA, USA where he drowned and died while he was swimming.

He led a well-balanced life and enjoyed every part of it with full satisfaction. He was committed to his family and his work and was a dependable friend. He was an accommodating, sincere, generous, friendly, hardworking, intelligent man of deep contentment, gentleness and cheer. We all will miss him profoundly.
